This is a heads up note:

Why the sale?

Simple, My home is to small to display the work.
I would rather see it in a good home, then collecting dust, and with children growing, They may not share the same love of the medium as I have. So it only makes sense to move on.

I love the color, contrast and feel of both works. It is just time to part with some of my favorite things.

Other then that reasoning, all is well... These items would make a great holiday gift for the ones you love.

Art By artist

I love this stuff... I mean I'm pretty good at picking great art. Hidden talent seems to creeep up on me. But wow are some people showing me some great stuff. It's not funny but it is good. Here are a bunch for you to view.

Looking for funny

Looking for really funny.
IF you have a site that has comedy or a really great cartoon fire it to me.
I will give credit and share it with the world.
Like most folks I like to laugh... Some times even at people if not with them.

It is usually in the presentation. Like a comedian shaking his head off balance on stage...I laugh at him. Or a great comic drawn by a wonderful lady. I laugh with them.

Show me your stuff. If I really love your stuff I will take it to print.

Juggling

Have you ever juggled an elephant, an empty wallet and five interviews.
Well the result was an empty wallet and mounting medical bills.

Long story.

Don't do it, don't try it, don't even pretend you can pull it off. If just leaves a mess. Even if i almost pulled it off. I'm really getting to old to try these crazy things.

I think that I am spending to much time looking for the over time goal here. That's the line you walk when you want to do every thing.

Now I'm back to one ball at a time. Tomorrow I will try two , and hopefully by weeks end I will have at least three in the air again. If you never fall you would never know what your weaknesses are.

Take care all.

Spend big again!

Yes I do spend big...I think that $5.00 is about as much as I can usually handle. I am a cheap bugger. Yes I know get a life. But those bars have cover charges of $20.00 or more. No way am i paying that for some play time. Shit I could Just hand out cards outside and invite folks to my place to mingle for a fraction of the price. Hell I could make some cash by doing it too.

$5.00 is my limit to such foolish endeavors.

Now Who was going to give me that full time Job?

I've been told I'm pretty good. You have to see me in action to believe it though.
I can talk all I want but really, it's magical. Talented, Driven, Focused, Polite, Honorable, Honest. You don't get that kind of person from just any where.

Really pick me.

You will be pleased.

Spend Big

Now to see if all the hype is worth it?
Spend once, Twice three times.... Not out yet?
Dumb luck or does the research really hold true again. 80% still stands as my record to date. Lets see If I can start bettering that.

A new free on-line game called trickster is just great. I thought I would give it a whirl, and my boys like it too. I think it's the commerce aspect that appeals to me. Mine, dig, sell, trade... or hack and slash your way through the game.

You have to give it a try - Completely free.

Movie reviews

Pans Labyrinth - A rip off of two movies to create this Spanish flick. Narnia, Secret garden, and the story line is a derivative of several hell boy comics I've read. Needless to say the only real thrill I received from the flick was the costume design of the faun character.

Deja Vu -

Staring Val Kilmer, Paula Patton, James Caviezel, Denzel Washington, Adam Goldberg. Hello thriller...Wow never saw that coming. This is a must see film. It too has some similarity with a flick done by Dennis Quaid called Frequency - But Wow did the folks with Denzel Washington raise the bar. I really do not want to wreck the thrill and guessing of this show. Fore shadowing, plot twists, detailed story and more character interaction then you can shake a stick at.......Great stuff.

Study, Study,Study...Bing!

I did not realize why I some times get confused. Truth be told It's not really me but the sheer vast amount of Info I have to consume from being an artist type personality.
I visually study, Stare, and analyze every thing I come into contact with. My wife noted that I am a bit of a shut in at times.

I function in a fairly normal manner. But I consume and regurgitate everything. I reproduce ideas from ideas and grow thing in a visual way. So often I know the answer but get the program or system wrong due to the huge amount of programs I need to know. Add to that pass words, user names and other muck floating in my brain it is any wonder I get any thing right at times.

Thankfully there is a little bit of consistency in how things are being pushed together, and evolving. If the compliance is not there - the answer is harder to attain, even though you know you are correct. Streamline, define and improve are the best ways to keep things simple and reach your goals.

Awards

Recently I was talking to some folks about awards. Way back in 19-04-2003 I owned Psikik.com. I was using it as an outlet for creative stuff and Ideas which I have archived. Admin, BN Soft Kailash Nadh, was the one who offered it up to me at the time. Which then was call the silver award. Since that time I have let the name slip back into the fold and it has been taken by another. It hurts me to see the nightmare it has become. A shameless site with no clear offering or structure. As such I will not post a link here. How ever the name lives on with my Blog - Not to be confused with the .com version it use to be. I would Like to make it clear that the award was not earned by the current owner. And I have since taken an interest in such misrepresentation that others attempt to capitalize on.

Although I can not control what others do, I can fight my quite battle to ensure the truth is known.

Now That same discussion lead to the question of why I do not continue to seek out awards. Well the answer is simple. It is always nice to have a pat on the back. At some point I too have to make a living. I need to find a balance between fame or infamy as the case may be. With the ability to comfortable live life and take care of the other obligations out in front of me.

Now that I have taken that load off my chest.... Back to the drawing board.

O' Canada

One of the finest Songs ever written for a nation. Heck I'd even go so far as to say the best song of all nations. There are others that come close but to hear it sang by thousands upon thousands of people. None could sound better.

Happy birthday to our little nation.

Every sacrifice we make today makes our lives better tomorrow.

Need a cuddle?

Hey I have seen it all. Really I think I have...My neighbour pointed out that the community seems to be slowly suffering from a growth in punk rockers and heavy metal lovers. Now that's not to bad as the young, youths are not causing harm...Not yet any way.

How ever if you choose to live a raver life. Your blanket is some thing that should stay at home, maybe even on your bed. The public bus is hardly the best place for a 15 or 16 year old to display his need to sooth him or her self.

This is a great image because it is a representation of the time when you separate your self from your comfort zone. Take heart teens. You are doomed to adult hood and responsibility. You are not immune to responsibility or the laws you are forced to live by. Grab the reins of life and ride strong into your future. If you are confident enough to do this display in public, you can easily lead a group of others to view the world in a more positive light.

You may not read this, or even care. I hope it at least gives you a perspective to try change. Stare every thing in the face and move forward.

WOW

Calgary was hit with a wicked rain storm...Floods all around, many places closed. Wow - It was quite the sight slowly watching the water rise. I love the water but when your home is slipping into an artificial ocean of water you wonder if your love for water is as strong as it always has been.
I did not get pictures but half the front lawn was flooded, and I seriously thought about get the boats out and preparing for an evacuation.

Thankfully every thing slowed and we are happy dry and safe.
Now back to working on the book.

Book Stuff Growing

Yes I am busy...The book cover is almost complete as well. It's not a beautiful piece, in fact it is abstract symbolism elements leave much to the imagination. I hope to have it posted here soon as it progresses. It leave an emotional impact but has little true art value in that you have to read the book to full understand what it may be relating to. The elements on the cover are boldly stated as to what they are in one of the stories and is a direct reference to the fictional world that is contained with in the stories or stories.

It is going to be a must read piece. I have enjoyed putting it together. So that enjoyment is seen in many of the stories. I find when most stories are inspired they tend to be better reads. Even the harry potter stuff - Which was awesome as the first two books were realeased and the last two felt a bit commercial. They only had new elements that kept me interested. I hope the last book is as good as the first two. The middle few were more or less world development books that kind of added the cream to the sugar. The though kind of lost me. I hope this last one pulls it back to where the story should be.

That is the reason why I wanted to keep all my stories short. Quality stories that ran you through the lives of several characters that other authors could grab and further develpoe if they so wanted. The book is great and really has me pump.

I also have another illustrated story page to add here soon.

Sunday, May 20, 2007

As I said - things are going well

Here are preview pages of the illustrated portion of the short story book I am putting together.
Of course these each represent one of the three finished stories so far.

The badger and the bear

Smudge and Jot

The darkness

Each story will be black and white and will be further edited digitally to better fit the book and also to clean it up a little. I want to keep my fans happy.

Feel free to down load and promote the work as it will all be available soon for you to purchase.

I am working for promotional piece as well for other publications. Hopefully you will get to see them first here.

Some of the short stories are ready for purchase at my book site as individual downloads.

www.lulu.com/rgrzela

Hey - Yo - Can't see me.

I'm finishing with a bunch more short stories for the book coming soon. Things are progressing well so I hope to have a few more posts on that out soon.

Banff

Awesome...The reason why I stay in the city I'm in is for the mountains. The ability to be surrounded by such an awesome force of natural structures is breath taking. Probably the only other view I would trade it for is a similar commute to the Ocean. Unfortunately the Tsunami problems lately have turned me off some what.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Wow - Some times you don't have to try!

Well Working is not a problem...Getting along with people is not a problem. Must be the work. Corporate culture should be straight forward. Smile - Do your job - Get paid.

If every one s reasonable it all works out wonderfully. I do my best to give you what you want. You take it and do with it as you will. We live a long happy life.

It's funny how people come into your life and leave it, and each one give you more then you can ever take. I have learned some very important rules. One of them is Women really are trouble. Both in work and in your personal life. My wife is a rare one who actually works with people, instead of being a diva cow. It's nice to see that I found a great lady with her head on right.

Women as customers are more trouble then men as well.

Don't get me wrong...Heck I love women, I married one that worked out great for me. I just can't help but wonder why they are experts at every thing. They are better at sales, child birth and birth control - more then I could list here.

It's just the complaining that often follows when you engage them an any level. Men just seem to have a better sense of humor about it all. I guess as a man we kind of have to. It's a predetermined sate of things that both parties are always ready for.

Well back to art.

New e-books

Every one knows that I am publishing work like crazy. In fact, I am so far keeping pace with a story a year which may seem insane with a family and bills, and work. But Love of art and words are a growing thing with me. A passion that I think is slowly consuming my fuel for life and the drive to create more.

(NON-Sense the passion only grows)

Here are the titles of the stories you can down load for less then a lottery ticket.

The Demon Slayer

Magical Elitist

Little Yellow Toes

O’Connor’s Dance

All for you to check out at

Try harder

Try harder, Try harder, Try harder. No matter what Try harder. There are good people in the world smart enough to quit. I refuse to give up. People need to understand that the end is really a begining to more in life.

So many people try to knock you down.
Get up, Try harder.

Try to be nice and people are insulted.
Try harder, to be honest and nice.

The world is jaded and corrupt.
Try harder, to be your best and do what is best for you.

Every day I see the right, and good in life. Children do that for you.
Try harder, to lead them to a better place. You are the example for some thing better.

Try harder-Try harder-Try harder.
Have faith that life has more to give back to you. Even if it sinks right now.

LIFE DRAWING

HEY - YOU! YES YOU!
I would love to do a life drawing of you. Unfortunately I'm to busy living life.
As much as I enjoy rendering a photo realism type of work, I can save us all a bunch of time. (AND MONEY) Please go to the store and buy your self a disposable camera. Place it in the hands of a friend. Smile - we may only get one good shot out of this thing....WA LA - A dashing likeness.

For a total of $30 dollars and ten minutes you become a master piece.

Now if I do it....6 hours of our collective time. chatting, sketching, Rendering... Snack and bath room breaks. Uncomfortable silence. And long lasting muscle cramping positions to try.
You lose $300+ dollars, Supply costs, food costs. And worst of all...You may discover that I truly am a temperamental artist that requires mood to create.

Ultimately - The last thing I want is to dis-enfranchise my fans. SO please enjoy the work. Never, ever, again ask for a portrait sketch of any thing real life.

You are far to perfect for me to emulate at any rate.

BLog Marketing

This is the future of venting - I mean marketing...Does it really work though? I think it does. All need is the drive to put your self out there in the big wide space and hope that every one loves your stuff. I like most stuff posted now a days.

The web may still be new in terms of standards and management. But ultimately the big dollars will harness the chaos and make it one bland system for all to fall into. Blogs are a great easy to use tool that offer more then you can dream of in space and time saving structure.

Unfortunately it is also a system of giving into the man....The man that runs the blog that is.
Hey that is fine by me. I just want a chance to share some great art and idea's. If I have to bend a little to do that -OK. Besides being creative can be academic and healthy if structures. Breaking the mold can also be breaking the security of constancy and safety. That too is an illusion, (Safety) But art and blogs allow us that freedom to explore non-the less.

Does Blog marketing work...Yes.
How? As a network of shared space with the common goal to communicate.
Why? Because we all feel we have a voice that need to be shared in some way.

LAW SUIT

I'm not sure if this is a word that reflects the impending meeting you will have with lawyers. But I will say that if some one requests, (All be it forcefully) that you stop doing something...You really should. Secondly if you sign some thing that says you are going to stop, and don't. It is very likely that you will be dealing with a law suit.

(Law man in a suit?)

So what does this have to do with art?

Simple really. Freedom of speech. At which point does a person lose the right to express themselves if they truly believe (in principle) they are right. Is a pissing match in the courts the best way to solve these issues? I think not. It takes two people for a conflict to exist. Of the two only one can be right. In some cases there are percentages of correctness. However this display of chest bashing leads to a show of power and intimidation which may not entirely end said dispute.

This leads to the quest of...Do you as an individual really want to waste 5+ years of your life with countless interruptions while this issues hits the fan, Only to be over turned in the courts of higher power to be relived again.

(Suit or claim filed by the Law giver?)

By the way....Only the Lawyers make money during the pissing match. So it would be better to just agree to disagree.

Till then...Keep you eyes peeled and the art flowing.

(A well Dressed LAW or set of rules?)

(All ideas defining this word still brings a chill to my spine.)

Some more visual bits

Now all the art

With life back to some semblance of what most call normal..... here is the long awaited picks for you all. Paintings I have done over the last years and images for the fun of it.
